Open the Book (OtB) is an exciting storytelling project from the Bible Society, where Bible stories are shared with children in a way that is fun, interactive and memorable.  It is carried out by groups of volunteers, using the Open the Book programme who prepare and present a 10-15 minute scripted Bible story to a school assembly, involving the children as much as possible.

The Mustard Tree Trust runs one of these groups and if you would like to be a volunteer please contact us.

Schools Work

After the challenges of Covid we are now back in more schools than ever, helping to run after school clubs (CU) and supporting schools with their RE syllabus.

Assemblies:
We usually deliver assemblies in 12 first schools, as well as the local Middle schools.
Most of this work has been put on line and the schools have responded positively to the changes

Lifepath:
We are currently looking at ways to do Lifepath differently this year!

It is an annual event, usually held at Brinkburn priory in June. It is organised in partnership with Scripture Union, Barnabus in Schools, and other volunteers.

It is aimed at children in Year 4 and attended by local schools.
